Engravings in black with hand coloring on laid paper
This is a antique hand colored engraving titled Le Bal Pare a Monsieur de Villemorien Fila. This engraving was done by L. Provost which would date it to the mid 1800's. There is very little biographical information on L. Provost. In The Benezit Dictionary of Artists , it is only stated that he was a 19th-century French engraver and that he made engravings after works by Augustin de Saint-Aubin.
This is accompanied by "LE CONCERT. A MADAME LA COMTESSE DE SAINT BRISSON" France, 19th Century
After an engraving by Antoine-Jean Duclos (1742-1795) based on a drawing by engraver and illustrator Augustin de Saint-Aubin (1736-1807)
Both of them come in an original ornate ribbon bow motif, gilded wood and stucco frame.

ONE OF THE FRAMES ARE BROKEN. THERE ARE CONSIDERABLE AMOUNTS OF CHIPS AND SCUFFS TO BOTH THE FRAMES. PLEASE GO THROUGH THE PICTURES TO SEE THE DAMAGES. THE PICTURE ITSELF IS INTACT AND HAS NO DAMAGES.
